The past 5 years have been intense – building a business, completing a masters in counselling, taking on caring for my dad after a stroke, a relationship break up, 2 house moves, leaving a spiritual community, and weekly sessions for trauma healing (for the past 7 years).

I am sorry I have needed to take a couple of blocks off this year, and I am needing some more. I’m feeling burnt out and I just know my body has paid a price for the intensity at which I have been living, and I’m starting to have some stiffness and pain that needs resting, better nutrition, stretching and hydration.

I will be taking 6 weeks off; to take as long as I want to slowly sip my coffee on the couch and slowly stretch my body. To sit on the beach watching the waves over spring. To go out and connect with the flowers and take my dogs for long walks. To convert back to a dumb phone and organise all the downstream impacts of that to permanently slow down my life. To spend more time in a meditation cabin enjoying and investigating the miracle of my living body.

I have realised life isn’t a linear progression with endless amounts of available energy, life is cyclical and I can’t wait to rest after working my guts out.

This year has also presented a couple of situations that have allowed me to face death more closely and after passing through deep grief and fear, the fragility and impermanence of life is much more real. My teacher says it this way - we are bubbles and we can pop at any time. This realisation has amped up the joy and beauty I feel and the ecstasy and amazement of the little things in life and I want to enjoy being in this place that feels like the magic of childhood all over again, who knows how long it will last.

I also want to take time to celebrate an achievement that has taken 15 years to cultivate. To finally feel deeply at home in my body, mind and soul. I know how precious and short this life is. And in case nobody’s told you recently (or ever), you are precious, you are the one and only you that will ever exist, and just as there is an infinite amount of things to learn about the outside world, there is an infinite amount to know and discover about the inner world, and I have found an unbelievable amount of wealth through meditation, observing the mind and changing interpersonal patterns.

After finishing my masters this year I have begun exploring different avenues to build a new career, if your family/couple unit wants to work on defining values, consciousc narratives, reconnecting to ancestry, creating traditions, responsible tech use/boundaries etc please let me know, I am offering my services free this year as I cretively discover how I want to proceed in the coming years. I can organise something for after my rest ends.

I hope you will have me after the break and I realise your priority may be reliability and this arrangement may not work with you in the context of the time I have already taken off this year. If you need to cancel cleaning with me please let me know. If you want one of the other gals to service your house I may be able to schedule  1-2 cleans in over the 6 weeks time with Marina or Renee.

Lots of love,

Kristel (Darshana)
